Sara, along with daughter Olivia (16) and son Avery (19), closed their limited engagement City Winery and SiriusXM Y2Kountry present Sara Evans and The Barker Family Band – Bloodline Tour on a high note over the weekend, playing to sold-out audiences in Atlanta (5/15), Chicago (5/17) and Nashville (5/18). The six intimate acoustic shows entertained audiences over two weeks, leading Country Standard Time to declare of the Boston date, “give a heavy dose of credit to Evans for taking on a one-off side project that clearly is fun for her and family, but more importantly delivers musically…the front porch kind of night…provided the chance to see Evans in a way you may never see her again.”
Fans unable to catch one of the limited engagement dates can tune-in to SiriusXM’s Y2Kountry over Memorial Day weekend to hear a special broadcast of the sold-out City Winery Nashville show. Tune to channel 61 on Friday, May 24 at 5pm ET; Saturday, May 25 at 8am and 8pm ET; Sunday, May 26 at noon ET and Monday, May 27 at midnight and 3pm ET for this exclusive airing.
The tour and EP were intended from the outset to showcase this moment in time for the family as Avery, a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, and Olivia, a powerhouse vocalist and songwriter, embark on their own solo music careers. Evans tells The Tennessean’s Cindy Watts “I think Olivia would agree with me that being on the tour bus is her favorite place to be in the whole wide world. We’ve all spent the last 20 years out there. Them being part of my music for a short while is not that weird to them.”
The trio released The Barker Family Band EP last month, including mesmerizing harmonies on original songs and covers including Beyonce’s “XO,” – spinning on Radio Disney Country ‑ and Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” – spinning on SiriusXM’s Y2Kountry. The family focused project showcases Sara and Olivia trading-off lead vocals throughout the project while Avery plays acoustic and electric guitar on the tracks. The project is co-produced by Sara and Ben Fowler.
Olivia will take a solo turn on Sunday, June 9 as she performs on the Radio Disney Country Stage at Xfinity Fan Fair X during CMA Music Festival. More information can be found at cmafest.com/fanfairx.
