Sara Evans to Appear on “CMA Country Christmas”

Sara Evans will be joined by some of the most powerful and emotionally moving voices in music to celebrate the holidays on “CMA Country Christmas,” which tapes in front of a live audience Friday, Nov. 7 (7:30 PM/CT), at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The special airs this holiday season on the ABC Television Network.

Artists scheduled to perform and celebrate the season include Sara Evans, Dan + Shay, Brett Eldredge, Lucy Hale, Hunter Hayes, Little Big Town, Idina Menzel, Jennifer Nettles, LeAnn Rimes, Michael W. Smith, and Carrie Underwood.

“The taping for ‘CMA Country Christmas’ is a jump-start for the holiday season and has become a family tradition for many Nashville residents,” said Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “Adding to the celebration is our annual toy drive, which provides new toys for children in need, shining a spotlight on a worthy endeavor in a way that reflects the values and giving nature of our artists, the industry, and this city.”

For the third year, audience members are being encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the taping to help make the holidays brighter for Nashville area children. The Nashville-based non-profit group Generosity will have volunteers on site with specially marked bins to collect toys beginning at 5:00 PM/CT on Nov. 7. In 2013, the group collected more than 5,000 toys.

“Our artist community is extremely generous and so are our fans,” Trahern said. “It is our goal to make sure no child goes without a present this Christmas and we are grateful to our partners at Generosity for helping to make this a dream come true for children in Nashville.”

One of my favorite Christmas songs is an old Lennon Sisters song called “Christmas Island.” Haven’t heard it in years.

Hello my name is kaila grubbs. I know im not an important person. And that there are probley millions of ppl who write to you.. but i was hoping that this years CMA country christmas show would do a special performance for the military spouses.. i know that the military familys get alot of attach but with thisblast year with so many military familys loseimg there jobs, the stuff going on over seas, and for thoes who are still in possiably no being home for the season. The military spouses go threw so much. This speaking from experence has been pretty hard. Our budgets got cut and times are tuff. There are alot of familys out ther not even military related having ruff times. But speaking from a military spouse position i know it would mean so much to us if you could do a special preference dedicated to the spouses of the military men and weman fighting over seas. Theres a song that i hold dear to me its called santa bring my soldier home by the stunners. Its a band on youtube that has been recognized for there compassion and respect to thoes who serve. I know this isnt the site for the CMA country christmas but i was hoping you could pass it along and or maybe sara evens could maybe sing the song herself… please and thank you and i hope that you might actually consider this.
