Sara will be releasing her new single, “Put My Heart Down.” The single, written by Nathan Chapman, Andrew Dorff, and Elizabeth Huett, is the second release from her critically acclaimed seventh studio album Slow Me Down, released earlier this year, and will officially go for radio Adds on September 29th. “Put My Heart Down” pulls fans in from the first note with its infectious melody and relatable subject matter of wanting to protect oneself in a relationship.
“This is one of those songs that gets stuck in your head and tickles your ears,” says Sara. “She’s saying, ‘I have a feeling you’re going to hurt me, but don’t. Just be honest with me and tell me if you’re going to break my heart (‘put my heart down’) because I’m falling for you.’”
Slow Me Down’s title track, released earlier this Fall is Sara’s biggest first week Country radio Added single ever and fourteenth Top 20 single. Slow Me Down, which debuted at #2 on the Country Album Chart and landed in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart, continues to win over fans and media alike being dubbed her best album to date. It is the follow-up album to 2011’s Stronger and was co-produced with Mark Bright (Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts, and Carrie Underwood) who Evans last worked with on her Platinum-selling #1 Country album Real Fine Place (2005). Sara’s signature powerful vocals are heard on every note of Slow Me Down which serves as a reminder of why she has had a level of success reserved for few.
