Hi Sara,
I could really relate to the lyrics -Woke up late today and I still feel the sting of the pain/ But I brushed my teeth anyway/I got dressed through the mess and put a smile on my face/I got a little bit stronger-from A Little Bit Stronger.
As a fellow Missourian, I have been able to relate to a lot of your Midwestern valued lyrics, but this song has resonated with me in a more universal way. This year, at the age of 27, I was diagnosed with cancer. While it seems the song is about heartbreak, some lyrics have helped me to find strength in my situation and keep a positive outlook for today. I just wanted to congratulate you on a your success with the song & album, but to also thank you for singing such an inspirational song which people like myself can find comfort and strength in.
So, for today I will continue to repeat -
I know my heart will never be the same/But I'm telling myself I'll be okay/Even on my weakest days/I get a little bit stronger-/Doesn't happen overnight but you turn around/And a month's gone by and you realize you haven't cried/I'm not giving you a hour or a second or another minute longer/I'm busy getting stronger
"Missing (you in) Missouri"
I am so sorry to hear about
I am so sorry to hear about your troubles but I am glad you have strength in the song like many of us within the words. God Bless You dear. If you need a friend, just message me anytime. I know you are gonna be going through some hard trails, but it will be STRONGER in the end because of it.
Hugs,
JOE ELLIS JR.
